We really enjoyed this stay. The hotel was a useful base for enjoying a beautiful area, not far from the suburbs of Freiburg and Freiburg and the other direction. The setting was quite marvellous within easy reach of Heliotrope.

This place, situated in a great location, has incredibly friendly staff, easy check-in process, and offers a variety of delicious breakfast options.

Our family had a fantastic time exploring the beautiful surroundings of Hotel & Restaurant Gruner Baum Merzhausen. We took advantage of their bike hire service and had a blast cycling through the picturesque countryside. The area is perfect for outdoor adventures, and our kids absolutely loved it!

My kids wished there was a small playground or play area for them to enjoy onsite.

The location here is great because it overlooks the city. It's only a 10-15 minute walk from Hirschen, where we had a few meals. 🚶‍♂️

The room here was spacious and the bathroom was spotless, plus they offered a delicious breakfast with a variety of options to please everyone.

The breakfast at Hotel & Restaurant Gruner Baum Merzhausen was excellent, with a wide variety of choices and generous portions. I particularly enjoyed the delicious food and the friendly service provided by the lady working front of house. She managed the busy restaurant effortlessly, always wearing a smile.

Although the room was comfortable, it did become stuffy during hot weather. The provided fan didn't offer much relief.

The staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. They gave us great advice on places to visit during our city trip. The room was fantastic, spacious and spotlessly clean. The breakfast each morning was delicious with a wide variety of choices. We also loved the fact that the hotel had free parking and there were good restaurants nearby. The location was great, with a bus station right outside the door.

The unreliable WiFi connection. It was frustrating to have such a poor connection, especially when we needed to research routes or check traffic updates.

I stayed at Grüner Baum for a few nights during my trip to the beautiful Black Forest. The location, surrounded by peaceful greenery and with a stunning view of the hills, was just perfect. My room was spacious, comfortable, and had a large and cozy bed. Although there was no AC, the nights were pleasantly cool. The breakfast offered a good variety of cold cuts, cheese, fruits, and fresh bread, and most importantly, the coffee was exceptional. The staff were friendly and always ready to assist. I had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend Grüner Baum.

I always return to this hotel as it has everything I need including Wi-Fi, free parking, and a restaurant. The staff helped me find a place I needed during my first stay which I still remember. It's perfect for my romantic escapes.
